UPDATED**2020 Willard City Income Tax Filing Due Date extended to May 17th, 2021**

Please Note: *Your Willard Income Tax Return cannot be E-Filed.
* W2's, 1099's and  Federal 1040 Form must be included*
*Complete and Return the Yellow Tax Postcard if you have no taxable income
*Every resident 18 or older is REQUIRED to file regardless of Income*

INCOME TAX RATES 
2021=1.375%                        
2020=1.375%
2019
=1.375%  

*Current Penalty & Interest Rates
Interest Rates:  2021=5% per annum (0.42% monthly)
                                   
 
2020=7% per annum( 0.583 % monthly) 
                   2019=7% per annum(0.583% monthly)
Late Filing:            $25 per month up to $150
Late Payment:     15% of amount not timely paid
Late Withholding  :  50% of amount due, not timely paid


*Most Frequently Asked Questions about City Income Taxes:
-I filled out the postcard last year, why do I have to do it again? It is required in order for us  to keep tax accounts accurate. Yes, you must fill the postcard out or file a return every year. 
-I work in a different city, what do I do when I file? We do give credit for local taxes withheld for another city up to 1.375%, but you must show proof of this on your W2.
-My employer doesn't take out any city taxes, what do I do? You may be required to make Quarterly Estimates throughout the year based on your income. Contact the Tax Department for specific answers to your situation.

​-I didn't work last year, do I still have to file taxes? Yes. Filing is required even if you didn't work. You must fill out a tax postcard and turn in by the deadline.
-I only lived here part of the year, do I have to file? Yes. Even part- year residents must file for the time they lived in Willard.
-I use an E-filing program to file my taxes( i.e Turbo Tax). Can I file my City taxes this way? No. We cannot receive E-filed tax returns. You must submit paper forms by mail or in person.
-Can I use RITA to file my city taxes? No, The City of Willard  is not a part of RITA and tax returns cannot be filed for Willard using that system.
-Are City Tax and School District Tax the same? No. These are two separate taxes and we can only assist you with local city income taxes. Please do not include school district tax amounts on your city return.
