CITY OF WILLARD, OHIOCOMMUNITY HOUSING IMPACT & PRESERVATION (CHIP)In 2019, the City of Willard once again partnered with Huron County and the City of Norwalk to apply for a Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) grant. Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) handled the application and we are happy to announce that we were awarded the grant. This funding cycle will take place in 2020 and 2021. Willard's portion amounts to $300,000 which will be administered through GLCAP.
The CHIP grant is broken up into two programs: The Home Repair program is grant funded and provides home repair assistance for one or two significant problems in the home, offered at no cost to you. The Home Rehabilitation program covers more extensive repair work on the home, and is largely grant funded and partially funded by a no-interest deferred loan that must be paid upon sale of the home or title transfer. What repairs or improvements are covered? Here are just some of the work that can be performed:
Eligibility guidelines: Income guidelines vary depending on county of residence. Please see the posted brochure at the top right hand side of this page. We believe this is a great way to get help for low income homeowners that cannot afford to improve their homes. Please check it out and share the information with others that you know that might benefit from these improvements. |
